Growing tomatoes in Highwood can break your heart. When they're ripe and perfect
you cut them off the vine and it tastes like summer. The problem is that summer is only
one of the four seasons in Illinois.

Once my canned and frozen tomatoes from last season run out, it can be tough to find
tasty canned tomatoes within walking distance from my house in Highwood. Thankfully
for the other four seasons, neighborhood stores like Poeta's happily sell me a taste of summer.
