Fidel Ghini: A Highwood Legend
Overview:
Fidel Ghini was the mayor of Highwood for over 20 years and during that time he generated many headlines. Judge Dunn brought his personal collection of newspaper clippings and photos to the event. The Historical Society also presented a collection of press clipping from Fidel Ghini's years in Highwood.
Fidel Ghini Story: The late Mayor Ghini used to say that a city has no arms. Because cities like Highwood have no arm, it is up to the residents to protect the city. Along the same lines, since the city has no arms, it is up to the residents to take action and work for the city.
